The English Chamber Orchestra is one of the world's most celebrated ensembles. Its year-round schedule includes concert appearances and recording sessions at home and abroad. The prestigious London Concert Series presented by the English Chamber Orchestra and Music Society is under the patronage of HRH the Prince of Wales. Its long association with Benjamin Britten is already part of English history. Other famous collaborations include these with Sir Colin Davis, Daniel Barenboim, Jackeline Dupre, Raymond Leppard, Mitsuko Uchida, Itzak Perlman, and Pinchas Zukerman. |

Under the direction of the eminent principal guest conductor of the ensemble, Paul Goodwin, the Orchestra presented works by Corelli, Handel, Bach, and Arensky. Goodwin was recently appointed Associate Conductor of the Academy of Ancient Music and he has worked with numerous prestigious ensembles on both continents.

William Bennett, one of the foremost musical artists performing today, was the flute soloist with the group. He performed the Suite No. 2 by J.S. Bach and Dinos Constantinides' Flute Concerto, a work that has received rave reviews throughout the country in performances at important halls, including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York. Bennett has been principal flutist in many orchestras including the London Symphony, the Academy of St. Martin's in the Fields, and the English Chamber Orchestra.

Composer Dinos Constantinides conducted his own work in both Baton Rouge and at Daytona Beach's concert presented by the Florida International Festival the day before. Dinos Constantinides, the Louisiana Sinfonietta's music director and widely-recorded composer, has numerous awards for his compositions, written for nearly every musical medium. He has toured many times in Europe, China, Brazil, and the U.S., appearing as guest composer and conductor. |
